A Guide to Armor Sets

Hey fellow roleplayers! A question I hear from a lot of folks is how or where to find the perfect set of armor or clothing to suit their character. I am constantly looking for clothing to help me portray my characters the best I can so I created these lists of the quest armors and dropped armors in Archeage. I've had these lists for quite some time and have decided to refine them and post them up here with links to images for everyone to use so everyone can find the armor pieces that are right for them. Some people like to collect all the pieces of a set, while others like to mix and match. I hope this will help my fellow Archeage roleplayers find the clothing that they've always wanted for their characters!

Quest Armors
These are armor sets rewarded from certain quests in leveling regions. You will have a choice between 2-3 different sets based on armor types. You will only be able to choose one set so choose carefully as most of these armors will not be obtainable later in the game. Some of these armors are similar if not identical to certain dropped armors, so be sure to know this when selecting your set.

These armors are rewarded in 3 parts, "Uppers", "Lowers", and "Helmet". If you are creative enough, you can mix and match armor types to choose pieces you like from each set.

The only way to obtain quest armors of another faction is to either create an alt, earn the armors, turn them into image items and fuse them onto tradeable pieces. Instead of making an alt, you can also arrange for cross-faction friends who have the armors to image them for you.

Proficiency Sets
These are the cloth and leather sets that boost your proficiency in a certain tradeskill. These sets can be obtained either by completing the Blue Salt Brotherhood quests, scouring through the Auction House, or crafting them at a workbench. These sets typically provide a more casual, everyday feel for characters who just want to wear civilian clothing and not ornate, flashy, or bulky armors.

- Farmer
- Gatherer
- Miner
- Woodcutter
- Rancher
- Blacksmith
- Tanner
- Carpenter
- Tailor
- Weaponsmith
- Craftsman

Dungeon Dropped Armor
These are armors that can be found in dungeons as loot from mobs. Many of these armors are similar if not completely identical to quest armors of similar level. The Auction House is usually flooded with most of the lower level dungeon armors. Please review these armors before choosing a quest armor that may be identical or similar. It would be wise to, instead, opt for the dungeon variant so you may choose another quest set.

Palace Cellar (Level 18-29) (3 Piece Set)
- Purified Monk's Cloth
- Punished Believer's Leather
- Anguished Monk's Plate

Sharpwind Mine (Level 18-29) (3 Piece Set)

- Dark Crawler's Leather
- Body Thief's Plate

Burnt Castle (Level 31-39) (4 Piece Set)
- Sly Plunderer's Cloth
- Cold-Blooded Leather
- Ferocious Butcher's Plate

Howling Abyss (Level 40-45) (5 Piece Set) (Identical to Greater Howling Abyss armors)
- Persecuted Martyer's Cloth
- Inquisitor's Leather
- Cursed Paladin's Plate

Kroloal Cradle (Level 45-50)
- Exiled Wizard's Cloth
- Crazed Hermit's Leather
- Vicious Slayer's Plate

Greater Howling Abyss (Level 50-55) (Identical to Howling Abyss armors)
- Fallen Martyer's Cloth
- High Inquisitor's Leather
- Corrupt Paladin's Plate

Mob Dropped Armors
Many of the armors on this list have no available screenshots because they are rare and hard to come by. These armor sets are dropped in "Unidentified ______ Armor" drops from mobs. The most efficient way to gather these would be to check the Auction House for them often and buy them when they appear. Any armors appearing under a bullet point are identical to the armor above it. If the link takes you to a Archeage Database page, please click the "Contains" tab to view thumbnails of the armor set.

There are a lot of dropped armors and this is probably only about one-third of the entire list. I have chosen the ones I feel are aesthetically interesting or unique. If you like, you may also review the entire list of "Unidentified _____ Armors" on Archeage Database to find armors that I haven't listed.

Something I've wondered... for the quest armors, is there any way to get similar-looking armor later, if the items from the quest were sold or if someone wanted both the cloth and the leather ones from the same quest?

There are some quest armors that look very very similar to some dropped armors. And also quest armors that look very similar to armors in later quests. A few notable examples are Arach, Hal Hahpa, and Purified Monk. As well as Drunken Blade and Silent Leather. A western example would be Crossroads, Caretaker, Full Moon and Bloodmist Falcon all look fairly similar, if not identical.

If you wanted to get two armor sets from the same quest, your only option would be to ask someone who has the other armor (or make an alt) to turn the set into tradeable image items.

Oh, how do I change something into an image item? That seems easiest.

Here is a step by step guide put out by Trion themselves, guess this was a popular question!

Nice work and thank you for pulling the guide together. I'm going to sticky this for now. :)

To Wynda: There's a guide that Raven did explaining how to convert and create UCC images for items in the game. I'll see if I can find it.

Edited in: Here it is!

Amazing work. Now if only I could go back and earn the other types of quest armor instead of the ones I picked while leveling. ;/ I wish I could.

There's also a set you can get from questing in Dewstone / Mahadevi that's purple in quality. I don't know the names of the items, though. :(

Thanks Cayson! And yeah it would be ideal to have the whole outfit, though we can make due with just the shirts for now. Please update us once you've gotten them and I'll be sure to add them to the post!

I think I should have crafted the leather instead of the plate for sure.
